Description: | Reading Phoenix Choir will perform a selection of, mainly a cappella, music from across the centuries from Hildegard von Bingen to Josu Elberdin. The music will also include works by Tallis, Wesley, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Elgar, and John Rutter. You will also be introduced to some excellent newer choral pieces by some modern young composers. The money raised at the concert will be used to support the work of the Refugee Support Group. "We are delighted and honoured that the Reading Phoenix Choir will be singing to support Refugee Support Group (RSG) at this concert. Refugees and asylum seekers have faced unimaginable horrors and challenges most of us will never understand. Sadly, their difficulties do not end in the UK as they face an increasingly hostile environment. Refugee Support Group has been supporting such refugees in Berkshire for over 30 years, and we will be so grateful for your support in coming to this concert to hear this wonderful choir, which will help enable us to continue to employ our casework team who provide much-needed and free advice and support. We are dependent on the generosity of the public. Thank you all. " Nick Harborne CEO, Refugee Support Group |
